Welcome letter from PTA board and our goals

Dear Wilburton Families, Wilburton Elementary’s just opened doors for the first time and it’s our first year as a brand new PTA. We’re excited about all the opportunities our school, teachers and staff are bringing to students, technologies and innovations, coding programs and science enrichment, personal tablets for all K-5th grade students. It sounds like a great start for our children! While PTA board is working on obtaining a non-profit status (as until we’ll receive 501.3 tax exempt, PTA can’t participate in matching funds, host fundraising events, etc. But we’ll be there soon, we promise!) our team will focus on building our community and making sure that everyone feels welcome at school. This year we’ll have Coffee and Chat to share news, events, listen to your ideas and of course to drink coffee with your neighbors; watch for the sign Wilburton Wolves Go Out and About as we’re planning Picnic and Play at the Park, Hiking, Movies, Tours and Breakfasts for the whole family; Social Gatherings, Art Workshops and many more for parents; Cultural Festival, Literature Night, Science and Coding Night, End of Year Celebration. PTA’s Mission & Vision

The mission of the Wilburton Elementary PTA is to positively impact the lives of children and families by representing our members, and empowering and supporting them with skills in advocacy, leadership and communications.
PTA promotes the well-being of all children in four vital areas: community concerns, health, education, parent involvement.

Purpose of the pta

  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
  • To raise the standards of home life.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

Our diversity is our strength

Wilburton Elementary PTA, as a community wide organization, must have an active membership that reflects the diversity of our children.

As advocates for children, PTA is most effective when we:

  • Celebrate our diversity.
  • Identify and break down barriers in our organization that keep people out or minimize their involvement.
  • Create and work together on common goals.
  • Include in our active membership representation of all groups in the community.

School’s Mission & Vision

Learning Amplified for our Students’ Tomorrow! Wilburton Elementary strives to extend the world class educational opportunities offered in the Bellevue School District by providing a continuous, relevant, adaptive, and rigorous learning experience for all. Learn more about our school HERE.

Microsoft Showcase School

The Microsoft Showcase Schools program is a leadership-focused initiative to highlight innovative leadership and teaching across globally recognized schools. Showcase School leadership teams are part of a professional community that recognizes and amplifies the use of technology to drive school-wide transformation and efficiencies.
