Welcome letter from PTA board

Dear Wilburton Families, Wilburton Elementary’s just opened doors for the first time and it’s our first year as a brand new PTA. We’re excited about all the opportunities our school, teachers and staff are bringing to students, technologies and innovations, coding programs and science enrichment, personal tablets for all K-5th grade students. It sounds like a great start for our children! While PTA board is working on obtaining a non-profit status (as until we’ll receive 501.3 tax exempt, PTA can’t participate in matching funds, host fundraising events, etc. But we’ll be there soon, we promise!) our team will focus on building our community and making sure that everyone feels welcome at school. This year we’ll have Coffee and Chat to share news, events, listen to your ideas and of course to drink coffee with your neighbors; watch for the sign Wilburton Wolves Go Out and About as we’re planning Picnic and Play at the Park, Hiking, Movies, Tours and Breakfasts for the whole family; Social Gatherings, Art Workshops and many more for parents; Cultural Festival, Literature Night, Science and Coding Night, Math Night. Subscribe below to receive PTA weekly news and updates!

Ski Instructor Needed!
Our volunteers did huge work and we’re very close to provide great opportunity for our kids, but we need just 1 more instructor! Would you like to be a ski instructor on Wednesday afternoons for 6 weeks? Snow Sports Consulting Service runs ski lessons at area schools. SSCS needs one more instructor in order to run a chartered ski bus departing from Wilburton Elementary on Wednesday afternoons. This is a paid position with training and a free season pass to Snoqualmie. Come join other parent instructors in teaching our kids the joys of skiing! If you are interested in being an instructor please contact Michelle at m.obermeyer@hotmail.com.

Note: It is run by Snow Sports Consulting Services (SSCS) and is coordinated by parent volunteers at Wilburton. It is included on the PTA website and facebook page as a convenience to Wilburton families.

(For those of you that are interested in signing up your child for ski lessons starting in January please be patient and we will send out information just as soon as we are able to!!)
